The Best Two Words in Sports History: Game Seven

My followers, I am glad to finally announce that the Cleveland Cavaliers are the 2015-2016 NBA champions! It was a pivotal game seven, coming down to the wire. With two minutes left, LeBron James came out of, once again, no mans land looking like he had run from Miami to Cleveland, to chase down Igoudala and block his lay up. Then with about a minute and four seconds left, Kyrie Irving hit a step-back fade away, clutch three to give them a three point lead. With about 24 seconds left, Kyrie drove down the lane, flipped a pass to LeBron right behind him, LeBron got fouled, made 1 out of 2 free throws, and that completely sealed the deal, giving the Cleveland Cavaliers a 93-89 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

The streets out side Quicken Loans Arena went crazy, I went crazy, LeBron fell to the floor with joyful tears he could not contain, and Kyrie got a playful tackle from his dad as both went laughing to the ground. Lebron's promise to win the Championship had been fulfilled. The burden of the 52-years with out a championship had been lifted off their backs. Truly, truly, the best two words in sports history is: GAME SEVEN!!!

It is truly amazing, but after it all, its time to break it down.

Cleveland's aggressiveness was huge from the start averaging 27 points per first quarter and finishing strong averaging 22.7 points per fourth quarter in this finale series. Cleveland's scoring kept taking tolls and in this series they were barely able to keep there points above 100, averaging just 100.4 points per game. They also took drops in the assist column and the rebounding column averaging 19.1 assists and 36.4 rebounds in the finals. So how did the Cleveland Cavaliers win the Title? Kyrie and LeBron. It was just the right series for them, not only because there were playing under pressure, but also the two teammates created their own highlight reals. Kyrie Irving has played great all series long having several 30 point games and even adding a 41 point game in the 2016 playoffs. He also averaged 25.2 points per game, 3 boards per game, and 4.7 assists per game. And what about LeBron James you may wonder. . . well. . . will get to that later.

From the Warriors side, it's anything but happy. The basket didn’t seem as big as it had been all season long. The shots didn’t fall, the defense was stretched thin, and the towels hung over their faces as they lost not only the title, but also lost history. The two time MVP, Stephen Curry was played very tightly, getting into foul trouble, getting bumped on every cut or route to get opened, and lastly there was just great defense on him. There was one player who was as cold as ice, Harrison Barnes. He couldn't get his stroke going and was shooting well under 50%. If I'm coach Steve Kerr, I need to take him out of the starting line-up. I also felt like Steve Kerr was missing opportunities to make some of his bench players shine. For example when there was three minutes left in the fourth quarter and they were down by thirty, or twenty, maybe even fifteen points, then the bench got on a run. I thought James Macalo really shined for the Warriors, but Steve Kerr didn't increase his minutes the slightest bit. And the keys to success given to them in the regular season were lost in the playoffs, but with Kevin Durant now on the Warriors side who knows what will happen next year.

The playoff's Highlight Player is. . . the king of the city LEBRON JAMES!!! He accomplished everything he needed to, carried his team to win the finals, and most deservingly, won the Finals MVP. LeBron averaged 26.3 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game and 7.6 assists this playoffs, including two back-to-back 41 point games in the finals. The Warriors cloud not find a way to slow the king and his army down.

Well I certainly hope you enjoyed the finals, I hope you will enjoy the Summer league, have a great offseason, and all be next season with plenty more.

LeBron James Becomes First Non-Celtic to Make it to His Sixth NBA Finals

Look, I don't get payed to do this, but I love to act like it. I'm probably not old enough to be a sports writer, but it is one of my dream jobs (besides playing in the NBA). Or, be on the TnT Show with Shaq, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley, on GameTime, or the Starters, because these things are what I love to do. My real goal though, is to be the best NBA player ever.

Enough with personal goals and let's get on to life around us with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Instead of using the three ball, the Cleveland Cavaliers used the paint as a help to win. The Big Three for Cleveland have helped not only LeBron but the entire squad. Kevin Love has averaged 17.3 points per game and Kyrie Irving is doing a great job of scoring too, averaging 24.3 points per game this playoffs. Cleveland averaged 42.5 rebounds per game along with 105.8 points per game and they dished out 21.5 assists in the Eastern Conference series. On the downside though, the Cavaliers took a 6.8 scoring drop from last series against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Toronto Raptors are a very low scoring team, and to lose against Toronto you pretty much have to score less then one-hundred points. Toronto had less energy then the Cavs did using all fourteen games in the playoffs, and when the Cavs are 8-0 in the playoffs, they are definitely a nightmare. More deflation came in game five where Toronto lost by 38 points and definitely had carry-over effect in game 6 where the Cleveland Cavaliers won the Eastern Conference Title.

A look ahead to the Finals where the Cleveland Cavaliers will face off against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on June, 2, this Thursday. Stephen Curry has gotten back into his groove after two injuries in the first series. LeBron James hasn't played against this team with both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. But with LeBron's team fully healthy from head to toe, the Cleveland Cavaliers look to end the city's 52-year all sports Championship drought.

This series Player Highlight is once again LeBron James. James has averaged 24.6 points per game, 7 assists, and 8.6 boards this 2016 playoffs. LeBron also became the first non-Celtic to succeed in making his 6th NBA Finals in NBA history and has carried the Cavaliers to a 12-2 record in the playoffs.

So, enjoy this years NBA Finals and rematch of last year's NBA Finals.

LeBron, Referees, and Young Players

If LeBron's not fond of it, then neither am I. Just Like in any national sport we have official referees. And I'm upset when I see LeBron get hit, and I'm upset when I see LeBron push other players, which he rarely does.

James has gotten pushed or hit in every single playoff series, and in each of those three series he has gotten hit or pushed in the third game. To recap: the third game against the Detroit Pistons, Andre Drummond threw an elbow at James's head; second round series game three, Jeff Teague pushes LeBron into the stands;  and finally, game three in the Eastern Conference Finals, Bismack Biyombo and Tristan Thompson share words to each other, and either DaMarre Carroll shoved Tristan's elbow into LeBron's chin, or Tristan threw his elbow at James' chin. Also, something to note: these guys are all young players.

So no wonder LeBron James is not fond of the NBA's officiating.

I forget what this referee's name was, but he was the one who ejected Shawn Livingston with what almost seemed like a baseball pitch. We need more officials like that. I would bet you he would have at least given Teague a Flagrant 1. None of the three fouls against LeBron were even Flagrant. Why?

I don't know, there's been a couple of tweets here and there that are saying ref's that don't do a good job should be fined. The referees try to do the best possible job they can. Some people may say it's not a big deal if the refs miss a call, and some may say it is a big deal. The last second non-called fouls or violations is what is disturbing me the most. Shaq said that he didn't like games to be decided  on a non-called foul. LeBron said that it was bad for the youth. So yes, if Westbrook travels and it isn't called with in 45 seconds then the answer is obvious.

With all due respect you should be fined. Joe Borgia, V.P. of NBA officiating, said that the Westbrook travel was an " unfortunate miss." It's not "unfortunate" - it cost the Warriors the game! Referees have to do a better job and be more strict.

Spurs - Time to hit the restart button?

Coach Popovich, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili... Are they done?

I guess the real question is... Is it time to hit the restart button?

It has seemed like forever since the San Antonio Spurs haven't made the Playoffs. Success is what San Antonio gives, and it's hard give up that success that the Spurs have had. But if I was the Spurs' General Manager, I'm tired of that strange atmosphere in the locker room, on the court, and at the press conferences. I'm not sure if the team feels it, but I do, and strongly.

Some people say the best relationship in the Spurs franchise is Timmy and Pop, but can that keep on going now? There's no disrespect in this report, or opinion as you can call it, but there's no father prime in this San Antonio basketball team unless you get Dwayne Wade. I think the biggest problem is if you're a rookie or a player who wants a new young team where the future is bright, the Spurs is not the place to go if you keep Popovich , Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker.

These fantastic three, as you could call them, aren't young and talented any more. The Spurs' Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge have rings to get, have titles to win, and most importantly, they need bright futures to look forward to. The Spurs Fantastic Three have slowed down quite a bit, and they've scored less. Does this have to do with age? I say yes, yes indeed. Even Tony Parker has taken a drop despite being only 34, and Tim Duncan now 40, and Ginobili 38, plus none of these guys are like Kobe Bryant or Dwayne Wade.

If Kevin Durant is going to the Spurs why not hit the restart button? You'd have KD, Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge and I would even try to get Russell Westbrook. And even if you don't get KD or Russell, I would still hit the restart button.

Cleveland Sweeps Again - Playing Best BasketBall

Cleveland's dominance continued into the second round, sweeping the Atlanta Hawks 4-0. I read a tweet on NBA TNT Overtime that said the Cavs won't lose a game until the finals, and I highly think so the way that they've been playing.

The Cavaliers have stepped behind the arc and have been successful doing so, averaging 19.2 three-pointers and 38 attempted threes against Atlanta. Cleveland has gotten hot starts averaging 30.7 first quarter points, but the fourth Quarter has taken a drop averaging 25.5 points in the final quarter. Three point shooting for the Cavs also has to come with assists, and they did just that by getting 25.7 assists per game. LeBron is near to averaging a triple double, having a solid 23.5 points per game, 8.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists. And speaking of triples, LeBron has always had a big three around him.

The Hawks did just about everything wrong this series: over helping, getting lost in pick and roll, giving up late 1 point leads, etc. The Hawks have two All-Star players on their team: Paul Milsap and Al Horford. The team doesn't have a great Starting Five but what really disturbed me was that the Hawks seamed to just skip right over the stat sheet. For example, Jeff Teague averaged 11.5 Points, Thabo Sefolosha averaged 9 Points, and Kent Bazemore averaged 8.7 points. You can't live up to those numbers if you're on the starting five.

I probably favor the Heat to win against the Raptors, but it would probably be easier for the Cavs to win against Toronto, despite LeBron saying it would be cool to go up against his former teammate Dwayne Wade.

The Cleveland Cavaliers still look to win the Finals, and I hope they do.
