LeBron James Becomes First Non-Celtic to Make it to His Sixth NBA Finals
Look, I don't get payed to do this, but I love to act like it. I'm probably not old enough to be a sports writer, but it is one of my dream jobs (besides playing in the NBA). Or, be on the TnT Show with Shaq, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley, on GameTime, or the Starters, because these things are what I love to do. My real goal though, is to be the best NBA player ever.
Enough with personal goals and let's get on to life around us with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Instead of using the three ball, the Cleveland Cavaliers used the paint as a help to win. The Big Three for Cleveland have helped not only LeBron but the entire squad. Kevin Love has averaged 17.3 points per game and Kyrie Irving is doing a great job of scoring too, averaging 24.3 points per game this playoffs. Cleveland averaged 42.5 rebounds per game along with 105.8 points per game and they dished out 21.5 assists in the Eastern Conference series. On the downside though, the Cavaliers took a 6.8 scoring drop from last series against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Toronto Raptors are a very low scoring team, and to lose against Toronto you pretty much have to score less then one-hundred points. Toronto had less energy then the Cavs did using all fourteen games in the playoffs, and when the Cavs are 8-0 in the playoffs, they are definitely a nightmare. More deflation came in game five where Toronto lost by 38 points and definitely had carry-over effect in game 6 where the Cleveland Cavaliers won the Eastern Conference Title.
A look ahead to the Finals where the Cleveland Cavaliers will face off against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on June, 2, this Thursday. Stephen Curry has gotten back into his groove after two injuries in the first series. LeBron James hasn't played against this team with both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. But with LeBron's team fully healthy from head to toe, the Cleveland Cavaliers look to end the city's 52-year all sports Championship drought.
This series Player Highlight is once again LeBron James. James has averaged 24.6 points per game, 7 assists, and 8.6 boards this 2016 playoffs. LeBron also became the first non-Celtic to succeed in making his 6th NBA Finals in NBA history and has carried the Cavaliers to a 12-2 record in the playoffs.
So, enjoy this years NBA Finals and rematch of last year's NBA Finals.
